Recruitement officialy opened for Casual raiders [October 25, 2009] - Hide
As of today - 25 October 2009 - Protectors of Elune has officialy re-opened the recruitment for less active people but who can still have desire in raiding and in progress, but due to certain real life issued cannot make it for more than 2-3 times per week.
If you are such a person, you have the skills and desire to progress into hardmodes and prepare yourself for soon to be Icecrown Citadel then please leave an application on our forums. For more information about this please feel free to whisper one of our officers.
Please note that less active doesn't mean less skilled, we have same expectation from the less active as we do from our normal Raiders. More infos about the expectations, rules and benefits of such a rank can be found here http://www.poeguild.eu/?page=casuals .
Trial of the Crusader cleared [September 02, 2009] - Show
Another easy boss goes down, quick kill, free loot. TotC cleared!
Twin Val'kyr 1-shot (25man) [August 26, 2009] - Show
Finally got this annoying Old God down. Very intense fight, but impressive teamwork and practice were key to defeating this boss, as with any other bosses. Well, this, coupled with lack of disconnects, and normal raid attendance.
GJ people, well deserved achievement! ;]
General Vezax dies second night of tries, opening the path to the last boss of Ulduar, Yogg-Saron.
Flame Leviathan to Mimiron (25man) [May 31, 2009] - Show
One of the more challenging bosses in Ulduar 25, the big-headed robot gnome, Mimiron, got defeated tonight by a well focused raiding team. With all keepers dead, we've opened the path to General Vezax and the last part of Ulduar. GG PoE :)
Sartharion and his 3 minions [February 23, 2009] - Show
Finally, just had to see Sartharion and his 3 drakes go down before us. And down he went! Considered to be the toughest challenge to beat in World of Warcraft to date, we found it at the same level with upper Black Temple or Sunwell at level 70. Epic fight and epic win in just 3 dedicated raids! GG people!
Challenging fight, more fun than its normal mode version and worthy of a real progress raid. All available WotLK content cleared, now we wait for the next content patch ;] GJ people!
Naxxramas (25man) cleared [December 23, 2008] - Show
Kel'Thuzad down, heroic Naxxramas cleared. Thaddius gave us a bit of trouble on our way to the last boss in the citadel, but nothing we couldn't handle. And so, this kill concludes our 2008 raiding activities, with bosses like Kael'thas, Illidan Stormrage and Kel'Thuzad put to rest. Fantastic year! Well done guys! :D
Malygos down, and all 10-man content cleared! A truly epic fight, worthy of the new expansion. GG everyone ;]
Naxxramas (10man) cleared [December 02, 2008] - Show
Naxxramas and the Obsidian Sanctum cleared after a week and a half since we first set foot in there. Fun encounters, all 15 of them. GJ everyone on the very first Wrath raid clear!
[PoE vs Illidan Stormrage - First Kill - September 28, 2008 - Enh Shaman PoV - Zeuszen]
And so, our last Burning Crusade raid comes to an end. We did great for ourselves and for the guild the past year. We've cleared the entire original BC content before it has been nerfed - a real achievement, and we want to thank everyone that helped us progress, stuck with Protectors of Elune through farm raids and progress raids, and cleared endgame. GG and see'ya at level 80! ;]
Very successful night in Sunwell brought Kalecgos and Brutallus down, begging for mercy. We didn't show any, so after the dragon went down(or up) we pushed on, learned Brutallus and his Burn moods, and killed him. Well done everyone! ;]
Black Temple - CLEARED. Illidan Stormrage, The Betrayer bows down to <Protectors of Elune>. 1 year of 25-man raids, 1 year of great success brought us, step by step, to the final boss of the Black Temple. From High King Maulgar to Illidan Stormrage. Big hugs and grats to all that took part in Illidan progress raids. GJ PoE :D
Maulgar v3.0 defeated after a raid and a half. Loooooong fight and a satisfying victory. GJ guys for bringing the guild to Illidan Stormrage after less than a year of 25-man raids. We are.. prepared!
After successfully killing RoS on the 3rd attempt, placing it on farm status, the 4-armed Mother Shahraz meets our healers, and again, on the 3rd attempt she goes down. And guess what? We get an extra night to try Maulgar v3.0! Nicely done PoE! ;]
Yay! RoS has been defeated, practice (and DPS) makes perfect when it comes to this fight. Good focus and a nice bit of damage done made this possible. Awesome raid! GJ everyone :D
Archimonde has finally been defeated, after what seemed to be a long time trying to kill him. In reality, we needed 3 raids of training, misclicking tears and stepping in doomfire, to realise this guy is not THAT hard to beat. 4th raid, in our second week of tries, brought victory and new T6 tokens. Hyjal Summit is now cleared, leaving us to focus on the remaining bosses in Black Temple. GG raiding team and congrats PoE for clearing yet another instance!
Second night of tries on Bloodboil brings us one step closer to Illidan Stormrage. Incredibly tough fight for our healers, but they pulled through =D GG raid team, keep on rockin' and swing!
The Last of the Sunstriders [June 01, 2008] - Show
1st of June, the beginning of the Summer, brings great joy to our hearts. After 3 weeks of hard work, frustration, and a LOT of training, Kael'thas Sunstrider, the Lord of the Blood Elves kneels to Protectors of Elune. In what can be considered a truly epic fight, we have shown our weaknesses and we have shown our strenghts, bringing the raid team closer together than ever before. A glorious day, and a milestone reached. Congratulations to all of us that have contributed, at one point or another, to his demise.
Yaaaaaaaaay! No more Teron Gorefiend abusing our players, killing them and making them play the "kill-the-constructs" game. WE killed HIM for a change! Great night it was indeed. GG raiders, one more BT boss added to the wall of trophies ;]
Azgalor added to our trophy list, and T6 gloves added to our hands.. They fit us well :D Archi got mad at us for killing his last minion, started cursing and, obviously, we felt the need to slap him. Unfortunately, he slapped us back. But we won't give up harrasing him, will we? GG again PoE!
Hehe Supremus goes down to PoE easy enough with plenty of time left on the enrage timer. Even though it's probably considered the easiest kill in BT, it's a fun fight. Volcanoes are a nuisance indeed, but easily avoidable once you've learned the fight. Pew. Pew.
Heehee, PoE enters BT and kills Naj'entus. Bastard pushed us and we pushed back. First kill with 7 healers only :o Job well done everyone, especially the magnificent 7. Annoying spines, aren't they?
Finally decided to take down this demon guy, so, in a guild effort night, half-full of DCs and power failures, we did. Awesome DPS focus, great healing, not to mention state of the art tanking, made it possible. GJ PoE!
Rage Winterchill, the first boss in Hyjal Summit got blasted away 2nd time we attempted him, thus completing our Black Temple attunement. Not a very challenging fight, but a fun one! GJ guys, keep'em coming!
Finally, Zul'Aman bows to us! In just 2 weeks we managed to kill all 3 remaining bosses after a break of 3 months. Jan'Alai, Malacrass, and Zul'Jin gave up, and in a full night dedicated to the troll dungeon, we managed to clear all 6 bosses, with 2 chests reached in time. We were not even aware of Zul'Jin tactics after killing Hex Lord, however, a 10-min read-up break fixed that. Pew. Pew. GG PoE! ;]
Wheeee, another tin can goes down to PoE. Easy raiding made annoying by the 15-min waiting debuff.. no pain no gain I guess. Doomlord Kazzak, Halazzi, Jan'Alai, Lady Vashj and Doomwalker dead from Friday to Tuesday, not bad for 5 raiding days eh? *giggle*
Incredible, awesome, at a loss of words... Lady Vashj down!!! YAY! Thank you raid team, thank you for not giving up, and for proving that we can work together to defeat even the most resilient of bosses yet faced. Nicely done everyone! Another milestone reached, congratulations :D
Kazzak killed the first attempt of the night, we have tried him before but he always got to enrage a second time. But not tonight. Karathress, Morogrim, Kazzak killed and Doomwalker at 13% first time we ever attempted him. Nicely done PoE! :)
Another one bites the dust... [February 17, 2008] - Show
Morogrim Tidewalker, water-bubble-farting-giant, meets PoE, his undoing. With him gone, all that stands between us and the first vial, is Lady Vashj. Quick progress over the past 3 weeks will make future tries on Vashj a reality. GJ on another beautiful kill! ;]
Blind, Leotheras The Blind [February 10, 2008] - Show
Greatest kill we ever done in SSC, went down 3rd try! Fun fight, and not a tough one. However, 15% cought us by surprise. 1% and only 3 players left alive. No DPS, only 1 druid tank, 1 priest and 1 paladin. We killed him not a moment too soon, as 5 seconds remained before the enrage timer ran out. 20sec long 1%. But we did it, and we were awesome. GJ raiders! ;]
Weeeeee! Fathom-Lord Karathress down. Not unlike High King Maulgar, but with loads of damage done to tanks. And to healers. And to DPS :P Awesome healing we got and once the 3 adds got killed, FL became a pew pew tank-n-spank fight. 7 minutes and 30 seconds was all we needed to kill him. Clean kill, no deaths. Very focused raid, no DCs, no interruptions (except spawns :o). Outstanding, GG once again peeps!
Picking up old threads... [January 23, 2008] - Show
And yet another raid boss falls to our knees. Hydross, an old aquaintance of ours from our early 25-man raiding days, stands no more. Back then we were... not prepared.. We evolved, grew as a team, improved our gear and learned what it means to raid. We still have much to learn, and many bosses to kill until we can "claim outland as our own", but all in good time. Very nice and clean kill, and a lot of fun as well. GG PoE!
Soooooooo. Wind is blowing through TK. Only Kael'Thas stands, but he will meet his doom soon enough. The warlock-dressed mage was not much of a challenge for our team, but worth spending time in her beautiful company. Well.. tall if not beautiful xD. Rewarding week for us, after all that time well spent cooking dinner. Good job guys killing Solarian!
Ingredients: 1 x Firechicken, 10 x Mild Spices, 25 x Devoted Cooks, 5 x Salt, 1 x Focus, 1 x Perseverence. In a large bowl (or chamber xD), spread salt on the firechicken. Add cooks, spices, focus. Stir for a few minutes. Top the chicken mixture with perseverence and bake uncovered for 15min. Add small (or large) amounts of wipe if it feels too dry. After baking, remove any unwanted metal, cloth, weapons or jewelery from the roasted chicken and gloat at your newly discovered cooking abilities. Best served hot. Bon apetit!
Welcome to 2008! Raids start again and we're making progress in TK. 1st raid for this year and we bring Al'ar 30% closer to death. I have a good feeling that it/she will die in our next night of attempts and I wish us the best of luck in the fights that are about to come in SSC/TK/Hyjal/BT!
So.. our last official raid didnt go very well.. Kilrogg was down for more than 6 hours, and noone attended the raid :P We're now officially in raiding holiday until the beginning of January, when we'll resume raiding Al'ar. 2007 ends with unexpected results in 25-man raids. Thank you all for making this progress possible! GG, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Say hi to our Annihilan pit lord friend. Now say bye.. :P The little visit turned out to be a large scale party, Magtheridon fighting not so hard for his survival. First night visiting the lair we have several consecutive tries bringing him down to 16%-25%. Second night we kill Maggy? Is that even normal..? I guess it is for <Protectors of Elune>. Can anyone say.."MILESTONE"? /big-grats
There, the walking semi-intelligent giant metal stitched junkyard has been disassembled. And why shouldn't we get some almost free T5 shoulders? :P Gruul's Lair cleared in 48min and Void Reaver killed in 7:40, not bad for a night's work eh? ^^
Jump up, jump down... rinse and repeat - he's dead. Practice and a well focused raid was tonight's recipe for success. Once we got him to 30% with no deaths caused by spout and all adds dead in time, we knew that another boss was about to get killed by PoE. Got tired of the old Gruul pic, about time we changed it :P Nicely done everyone. :)
Another new boss goes down to PoE! Definitely a tough fight that requires practice, practice and more practice. We had finally learned how this encounter should be handled and even so this fight is based on luck we got some sense of how the situation should be controlled. Grats to all the people that got loot from him, but more important, grats to the entire raid for making this possible! GG!
And stand on the bloody diamond! ^^
Last boss left alive in Karazhan is now dead. It took some portal practice to get the fight right, but as soon as we all understood rotations the fight became one of lower kara difficulty. Karazhan is now cleared, every boss inside killed and every event completed. Another milestone for PoE. GG guys! ;]
We had finally found a night in which the entire raid was focused and did not experience any technical issues like disconnects or lag. Surely enough, we pwned him, skeletons were no threat, dps was good, healing even better. One thing remains. Netherspite.
PoE starts 25-man raids and downs High King Maulgar! We've just learned what it means to syncronise, organise and focus at a new level. 2nd night of tries and the fat ogre and his ugly council get their first wipe, thus setting a new milestone for PoE. Excellent job guys, and.. keep them coming :D
Demonic presence at the top of Karazhan destroyed, as the quest demanded. We're a short way away of clearing Karazhan, and i'm hoping that within 2 weeks both Netherspite and Nightbane will go back 'to that dark place they came from', that is, if people won't go on vacation :P As for the Prince, it was an overall easy fight, having some luck involved in Infernal drops. GG guys :)
After the great success we had in putting Medivh's father to sleep, we decided it was time to take down the demon boss aswell, since we'd no longer get respawns and we were free to roam around. Surely enough we needed just a few tries and a change of tactic to kill it. It's easier done than said.
"I am not some simple jester! I WAS Nielas Aran!" [July 28, 2007] - Show
:D yes, finally, 4 weeks of trying to kill this bastard made us really mad and now the punkzor is dead... ppl screaming on gchat.. we were so ecstatic that we didn't even care about the loot, GJ again :)
We killed The Bid Bad Wolf last night in a heroic attempt to clear up to Chess... easy fight, but much fun xD

"This curator is no longer operational" [June 29, 2007] - Show
Yay! He went down 2nd try, there were no deaths, GJ everybody for making this a fun encounter and gratz to Gaddar for getting the first T4 item in PoE :D , could you believe he was the only needer on the token? LOL if the hunter/mage/warlock token dropped instead of the rogue/shammie/pally one, half the raid would have needed on it. I wonder who would have won the rawl ^^
After more then enough tries we finally succeeded banishing Maiden from Kara.. at least for a few days. Alvi got the shard while rolling with his eyes closed and Edanna got her boots. She no longer walks bare-foot throughout the realm ;]
Moroes downed. Stay down!.. in 9 ppl and with no pally to bubble us :( It was the fight of our lives but we pushed through. It was not an easy fight.. the greater the satisfaction :D
Yay! Our first boss kill in kara completed, not much of a challenge nor something to brag with, but we did it as a team and it certainly is a milestone for PoE :D Keep up the good work guys!
